This guide covers the basic theory of digital electronics and the use of CMOS integrated circuits. Topics covered in the book include: basic concepts of logic circuits; the functions of gates, inverters and other logic "building blocks"; CMOS logic i.c. characteristics and their advantages in practical circuit design; oscillators and monostables (timers); flip/flops, binary dividers and binary counters; and decade counters and display drivers. The emphasis is on a practical treatment of the subject and all the circuits are based on "real" CMOS devices. A number of the circuits demonstrate the use of CMOC i.c.s in practical applications.
