Highly recommended 16 July 2009
By C. C. Chivers VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
You'd never believe it, but these are so simple to make, they just take time. It is the perfect book for beginners in modular origami and encourages one to ask for more.

The instructions are clear, simple and large. Initially I would recommend using slightly larger paper because once you get to the smaller paper you need quite a bit of dexterity and a lot of patience to fit everything together. Some modules require triangular paper which they tell you how to make from square paper, but although this takes time, they are really impressive.

This is a really terrific book which has already given me hours of fascination. The models are all very straightforward to construct; the instructions are extremely clear; and the finished product is really stunning. It's certainly easier to start with large pieces of paper when trying a model for the first time; some of them are quite fiddly to piece together. But once you've worked out how it goes and where the challenging stages are with each construction, it's possible to make very dainty models.

All the models require multiple units to be constructed, which means a lot of pieces of paper to fold. It's worth making sure you've got plenty of origami paper to hand before you start - you'll keep finding more models you want to make, and some of them use upwards of thirty individual units!

If you enjoy origami and are looking for a new challenge with it, or if you're interested in the maths of these polyhedra, this book will open up a whole new world.

Wonderful stuff 11 July 2010
By Stephen
Format:Paperback
This is an excellent book for anyone who is interested in modular origami and features some great models. It even provides a reliable method for cutting hexagons out of squares or A4 paper, something that's useful for other origami.

My best Amazon purchase in ages.

Totally recommended.
