Product Description

Before I Self-Destruct is 50 Cent's fourth studio album and is a darker and more self-reflective effort than previous records. For the album "Fiddy" returned to working closely with original mentors Eminem and Dr Dre (with both on production and guest duties). Includes the singles "OK You're right" and "Baby By Me".

This special deluxe edition of the album also includes a gritty 90 minute film (also entitled Before I Self Destruct)--an original movie written and directed by 50 Cent himself and telling the story of an inner city youth raised by a hardworking single mother who turns to a a life of crime.

I wish 50cent would listen to his first album then go to the studio and make the music that made us love him... this is pants, some ok tracks but nothing special, nothing that stands out anyway.... i remember - get rich or die trying... this album shouldnt be called before i self destruct it should be called 'how money makes a man turn soft'...

Most of the tracks are gangster rap except for the last three tracks which were the singles released for the album. I like it when 50 raps angry and he does sound very edgy here. The accompanying film of the same name is superb. It is a bit like the album, edgy, gritty and bittersweet. It is a very accomplished effort for his directorial debut. A very talented, down to earth artist who remembers where he came from. It would be easy to let the money, women and fame get to a person although it can be hard to escape ones past too.

i normally enjoy music by 50 cent but there's a massive change in direction on this album
its not the music you would expect from 50 cent. i read he was going back to the 'get rich or die tryin' days
far from it sounds like its just r n b/pop music very poor release. honestly there's alot of poor tracks with very few good records about 4 good tracks but thats it the rest is awful.

standout records (but not great add say average)

01 the invitation. ok start but the only really gangster track on this album.

03 death to my enermies. first time i heard it i thought it sounds weird prodution for dr dre
but it grows on you after couple listens.

05 physco ft eminem. ok track sounds like it should been on the relapse album its got that dark feeling to it
that the relapse album had.

09 strong enought. another ok track with desent lyrics but thats were the album ends there's nothing worth
listening to after this record.

am only writeing is review because i was shocked by how weak it is and just thought i should let people no before they buy it. if this album was good add be to bizy listening to it to review it.

ADD SELF DESTRUCT IF I HAD TO LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM OVER AND OVER AGAIN

I was a big fan of 50 cent when he came out i though get rich or die trying went down in my all time top 10 best albums.
Then he came out with Masacre which in my eyes wasnt half as good as his first it had one or two good songs but mostly skipable sold out hip hop.

We then had Curtis which was completely sold out hiphop. There was 2 gd songs on it "straight to the bank" and "i get money". The rest was everything he set out to not be from the start.

I think "Before i self distruct" is 50 back to his BEST.

The album is back to dark dirty beats with real lyrical tallent to go with it. my favrioute tracks are "The Invation", "Then The Day Went by", "Death To My Enemies",Hold Me Down", "Crime Wave", "Strech", "Strong Enough", "Baby By Me", "Do you Think About Me", "Ok Your Right".

I relise i have just listed 10 of the 16 tracks on the album but i think if anyone realy gives it a better listening to you will agree with me.

I give this 5 stars and hope his next album lives up to this one.

Granted wasnt expecting this to rival 'get rich or die tryin' But was expecting some good tunes... Bought this 2weeks ago, Only listened to it once, found it quite boring tbh not one stand out track. Only song that i do listen to now is Baby By Me and Physico ft Eminem... The rest is very forgetable. Shame.
