It is surprising that there are no reviews online anywhere to be found regarding this gem of a cookbook! The first thing one notices immediately in this beautifully hardbound copy is the high quality. The book is printed on acid-free paper and the entire book is sewn into traditional signatures like you would expect in any high quality book (not just glued in like a paperback book with hard covers like in so many hardback books of today). The cover is impressed with gold foil and the book contains a gold ribbon page marker as well. It is an exact reprint of the 1893 revised edition including all the original color and black and white plates and even includes the original front fold-out color plate. The only modern addition to this volume is a one page history of Mrs. Beeton at the end of the book. Even some of the original advertisements at the front and the end of the book were included. In all ways this is a first class reprint of very high qulity that is a must have for any collector of vintage cookbooks!
