5.0 out of 5 stars Not just another Beethoven violin sonata CD 17 Jun 2010
By JBJ
Format:Audio CD
Do we really need another Beethoven violin sonata cycle? When it is as dramatic and colourful as presented here, assuredly yes. The blend between these two performers is nigh on perfect. This CD takes immediately its place among -- but not above -- the greats (Oistrakh and Oborin, Perlman and Ashkenazy and Kremer and Argerich). A terrific CD and a real feather in the cap of the Wigmore Hall. Bravo!

I can only add my confirmation of how very good these are. I too think Perlman/Ashkenazy and Kremer/Argerich are the best I've heard till now. But now this cycle must also be added to that list!
