German conductor Otto Klemperer attended the Hoch Conservatorium in Frankfurt-am-Main, studied violin and piano at the Klindworth-Scharwenka and Stern Conservatories in Berlin, and composition with the German composer Pfitzner. Claasic "Pastoral" 10 Dec 2010
Format:Audio CD
I still have the classic LP, purchased when I was at Uni in the late 60's. I have always thought this to be one of, if not the best version of this symphony ever recorded. The transfer is excellent, with the benefit of additional overtures, and sections from Egmont featuring the incomparable Birgit Nilsson.

All in all a bargain, and highly recommended
