This collection of all nine of Beethoven's Symphonies, conducted by Sir Colin Davis, has been flawlessly performed by the 'Dresden State Opera Chorus' orchestra. Each disc has been well thought out, with the more famous symphonies, such as number 9, taking precedence over others, allowing listeners to find their favourites with ease.
Also included are two additional pieces; 'Egmont' and 'Leonore', found on discs three and five respectively, have been performed with graceful precision.
As a whole, this collection is a tribute to the great works of Beethoven and is ideal for those who own none or only part of his symphonic collection. Buy it today!!!

gorgeous warm playing as is always the case with the dresdon and colin davis always brings such intimate playing..brilliant..the sound quality is perfect too.

My husband paticularly likes Sir Colin Davis as a conductor and I had searched for some time to find a recording of this work. We are very pleased with the CD and have enjoyed listening to it at lenth.
