Product Description

The truth about good and evil is dangerous. So dangerous it can be deadly.

When Matt Daniels, a devout Theology student at Cambridge University, walks into a hell-themed pub, he's prepared for a hostile reception. But what he's not prepared for is that everything he took for granted: God, love and morality will shatter into pieces. And he's not alone: there are others for whom the world changes beyond recognition; believers and atheists alike. As certainties crumble and nothing is sacred any more, it's only a matter of time before the first victim falls...

'Intelligent, perceptive, thought-provoking and entertaining.' Julia Bolden.

A good read 17 Dec 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
A really good book. On one hand, it is a thrilling crime fiction with characters so interesting, genuine and involving, they make the book worth reading by themselves; but as importantly the novel is a philosophical debate about good, evil, morality, love and especially religion.

It's thought provoking, eye-opening, and entertaining all at the same time, with a lot of philosophical ideas and scientific facts.

Despite that it is very smooth to read and so compelling, you find yourself half way through the book before you realise it (and that's despite English not being my first language: I'm German and on top of that dyslexic).

If I had one criticism, it would be about the ending, which I felt was perhaps a bit too abrupt; but overall it was one of the most interesting books I've read in a while.

Interesting book. 1 Aug 2011

Interesting book. Lorensen explores themes which have become very topical since the advent of New Atheism and especially the publication of the God Delusion by Richard Dawkins - issues such as the evolutionary reason for morality, the absence of an objective moral code and social behaviour.
