5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource 4 Mar. 2014

Having grown up on a farm with a neighbor who was a beekeeper, I have the utmost respect for bees but I also am not one who runs screaming when one buzzes around me.

The idea of beekeeping has fascinated me for years and when I came across this book, I decided to take a closer look.

I found this book to be a very informative read. I think students and even teachers may find this book of interest along with others like me who are fascinated by the topic of bee hives and bee keeping.

My neighbor’s sons carry on his legacy now and have relocated the hives to another location. I think it is really a nice family activity to be involved in a project such as this that can be handed down from generation to generation.

Very well written book with great attention to detail.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thanks author! 8 Mar. 2014

As a student, I have to collect more books about keeping bees and collecting honey. Among all "Beekeeping Buzz" is best, one where the author explained everything in the right sequence with some simple but effective words. This book is a gem for new comers who like to survive their life as a beekeeper and earn remarkable profit. Must read all!

Great book full of information for the beginning beekeeper, easy to read and easy to understand. Would have enjoyed a few pictures to accompany it, but otherwise full of great information.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific Introduction for Prospective Beekeepers - Well-Written With Excellent Illustrations & Photographs 7 Mar. 2014

Just as did the first four reviewers, I'm rating this five stars for several good reasons:

1 - Nicole Wrinn has done great research, organized to gain a beginner's interest and written in a friendly, engaging manner. Few authors publishing to Kindle even come close Ms Wrinn.

2- Before launching into the book, readers are cautioned to thoroughly review their particular circumstances, included whether or not any relatives have bee sting allergies. In 1990 I was given a hive by a friend who was into beekeeping. Not only did I have get out due to my son's allergy, but my friends grandson got stung, nearly died, and my friend immediately gave his business away - his heart was broken but he valued his grandson greatly and never looked back.

3 - I was totally immersed in Chapter 1, Apiology 101.

4 - Not a single page in any of the seven chapters is wasted.

5 - I was astounded to find so much information was presented in only about 52 pages. More to the point, I was wishing there was another hundred pages.

While it is possible I missed a typo or missing comma, I believe this book is one of those rare tomes in which the only error is in the subtitle, as Beginners should be Beginner's. Otherwise, I would make not a single change in this outstanding booklet.

I most fervently recommend Beekeeping Buzz: The Beginning Beekeepers Guide to Their First Hive

5.0 out of 5 stars A Thorough Guide 2 May 2014
By A. Brantley - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is filled with valuable information. I like that the book makes it clear that this business isn't for everyone. You need to understand that bees will need a lot of care and money for your business to be successful. Beekeeping Buzz is a thorough explanation of everything you can expect when starting your first colony. If you're serious, or just curious, about learning more, this is a great book to get you started.
