This is the book that we currently use as our bedtime routine book for our 5 month year old. Even though the verbal content of the book is currently going over the head of our child, there is already so much to recommend it in terms of his sensory development.
Each page has 'lift-the-flap' opportunity which our child has found an increasingly fun activity. Often it leads to an opportunity to 'lift and chew' - which isn't ideal given the card pages - but this is clearly very engaging for him to do.
In addition, to diversify the sensory experience further, each new double page has a 'touch-and-feel' opportunity whereby different textures are incorporated for baby to feel: a satin bow; carpety hair; a fluffy tummy and some embossed stars.
As our child gets older then the rhythmic prose, I am sure, will further lend itself to the bedtime routine.
This is a fun, well-presented book with lots of features to stimulate a young baby through various stages of their physical and mental development.
