Book Description

Bedtime for Monsters is Ed Vere's hilarious monsterish tale - with a big twist!

What if a monster were looking for a bedtime snack? And what if that snack just happened to be you? GULP! He's getting closer and closer . . . and his tummy is rumbling REALLY loudly. You'd be very scared! BUT all this monster actually wants is a lovely monster-sized goodnight kiss. Night, night!

Ed Vere is also the author and illustrator of Mr Big, the story about the big Gorilla with the big heart and The Getaway. Banana, his book for preschoolers, is the perfect book about manners but only has two words - 'yes please' of course!

Ed Vere studied fine art at Camberwell College of Art and has been writing and illustrating children's books since 1999. He is published in both England and the US. Ed is also a painter, working from his studio in East London and is represented by galleries in London and Los Angeles. After a year and a half living in Barcelona, Ed now lives and works in London.

Look out for the new animation of Fingers McGraw... coming soon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Monstrous Fun for all the family 9 Aug 2011
By Quicksilver TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Just picked up this book at the library. Read it tonight to my two boys (2&5). You know a book is good when you have to read it three times in a row. The story is great, the pictures are great and the words are great too. Lots of lovely onomatopoeic words like gloop and schloop. The story is a little scary at first, so perhaps not suitable for any children suffering from nightmares, but the final pages are hilarious, sending my boys away squealing and giggling with delight. This is a particularly good book for Dads to read as there are plenty of opportunities for silly voices. (Not for second am I suggesting that Mum's can't do silly voices too!). Highly recommended.

Great book - slightly scary for a two year old!!!!! My older kids loved the story though and I guess it helps with the thought that monsters aren't scary at bedtime!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Its okay 4 Dec 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The best thing about the book was the pictures
Its about a monster coming through woods and swamps, supposedly to eat you (the reader)
Not very long and not very clever
Just okay
