The Bedroom Surrender is the 4th of the James Family series by Emma Darcy. It was written some 11 years after the first in the series and features Rosalie James, the Philippino member of the large adopted family of Edward and Hilary James. Rosalie is a high class model who spends all her spare time working with orphans in the Philippines. Adam Cazell, a divorced playboy father of Cate, is a billionaire businessman. After sighting Rosalie by chance on a few occasions, and being captivated, he finally meets her at her sister's home in England where his daughter is spending time with her best friend. Adam becomes a determined pursuer, and Rosalie eventually succumbs. The rich and famous intent of doing some charity work. Adam is fairly realistic, but Rosalie seems a bit too perfect, and the ending is too rushed.

Don't Judge this book by its cover. 13 Jan 2005
By Elspeth M. Mcclanahan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
From the Back

The Secret Virgin...Rosalie James appears to have it all: Looks, Wealth and a Successful Modeling career. But no one knows the secrets of her past.

And the Passionate Playboy... Adam Cazall lives life in the fast lane, tooo. And he's Infuriated by Rosalie. Why is she so private and Wary? Adam decides to invite him to stay with him at his exclusive Caribbean villa, where the sensual days and steamy nights will surely lead to her surrender.

OK the front picture has nothing to so with the book, yes the couple attend the opera but they are there separately and it is before the two are even offically introduced. Two yes he invited her to his Villa but what the back of the book neglects to say is that the invitation is also from his 13 year old daughter.

He also is never really infurated by Rosalie. ADam is intrigued and attracted though. This is really a great love story one that involved blended familys and learning that family is everything.

The best part is the end pure love that Adam had for Rosalie. I would say more but it would give it away.

emotionally disconnected 1 July 2011
By RomReader - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Mixed-raced supermodel has resisted engaging in any romantic r/s due to her childhood trauma but Hero is bringing out her latent sexual impulses. Billionaire Hero has been fascinated with heroine since he 1st saw her 9 months ago. Now that he's unattached & they're finally introduced, he pursues her but treads carefully. Heroine eventually agrees to a brief island rendezvous with Hero but she ends up staying there longer than she planned. Hero wants more than a fling but heroine fears that having more will make her feel trapped.

I didn't like this Darcy romance. It was stilted & is probably b/c heroine was so emotionally disconnected so the overall emotional feel of the book was inconsistent. Hero was more open but he seemed to approach heroine in a strategic manner than from an emotional one. Heroine was like a beautiful wall. She was emotionally unreachable, mistrusting, & closed-off to anyone that wasn't her adopted family & children. Hero did his best to try to affect her but I think he was only slightly successful. I'm not even all that convinced that Hero was truly in love with heroine. He saw her more as a challenge, like an indomitable mountain to climb. Even at the end (which was very abrupt), there wasn't much of a change. Heroine was in serious need of therapy to deal with her childhood trauma.

Don't waste your time on this book. A better Darcy book is Marriage Meltdown (Harlequin Presents) or Craving Jamie.
