Book Description

‘You got me back. You always said you would.’
Ash DeMorgan, graduate, orphan, ice maiden, has long since consigned the fairytale nightmares of a troubled childhood to the realm of fantastical childish imagination.
Now, lured back to Dublin, the scene of her tragic past, Ash encounters a city pulsing under the dangerous sexual influence of a new street drug the locals call Rave. Nothing is as it seems. Ash is about to discover that her nightmares are real, ancient Irish myths are larger than life and roaming the streets of the medieval city, and she has become the prey in their erotic hunt. A step back into her past is about to become a high adrenaline race for survival.
Connal Savage, outcast, assassin, and living, breathing hunk of ancient mythology, has lived a thousand years servicing a debt of revenge. Dead inside. Until he encounters his boss’s granddaughter, an infuriating woman who threatens to lead him to hell with all his good intentions, who manages to chip away at the hard encrusted defences of a lifetime spent at war and burrow herself deep into a part of him that hasn’t breathed for centuries. He is about to discover that when it comes down to the wire, when you’re bargaining with the Grim Reaper for the life of the one you love, you will do anything...

    5.0 out of 5 stars Enthralled. 22 Feb. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition
I am so Glad that the cover of this book caught my attention as it surpassed all my expectations. This was really impressive. It's been a long while since I've read a book this good. Such a refreshing new prospective on this overworked genre. Yes I had to go back & reread a few pages but it didn't spoil the story for me,It was that at times it was a bit over descriptive but as the storyline progressed it all made sense. The Irish mythology was as an Interesting new take on this genre & one I'm keen to explore in more depth. Connal & Ash's Love for each other was all consuming & took my breath away & Mactire was perfect in his role as the books baddie. No they weren't perfect & that for me was how it should be. I only rated this 4.5 Because Laini Taylor's daughter of smoke & Bone Blew me away & it had that little extra something, If there was a negative to this story it would have to be the cliff hanger it was one of those really painful endings that left you pulling your hair out in frustration. I only wish I'd discovered this book when the others had already been released So I was able to read one after the other & If they are as equally as good as this one then there going to be pretty hard to top. I'm that Impressed that I'm trying to find it in hardback. So if like me you love a great read that grips you from beginning to end then do yourself a favour & read this, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic book, loved the characters. Cannot wait for 'Becoming Bad' , the character and story development kept me hooked from the get go. Love the fact that it's set in Ireland too!

    Review-Over
    My New Thoughts - 5 out of 5 - I loved it!!
**received the book free from the Lovers of Paranormal group for an honest review

This story is awesome after the editing, I now give this book a 5 out of 5. I read this book back in March and after being told about the editing decided to re-read it. All of the issues were fixed. The two authors write as one which is amazing to me since everyone writes differently. The back story is tragic to both the female and male lead, but it helps draw you into their lives. The drama, battles, and connections between the characters are exciting. I was not happy where the ending left you hanging, but I will definitely be reading the next book which I'm sure was the point :) I'm hoping some of my questions about her grandma and her will be answered in book 2.

It is definitely worth reading and recommended to all PNR fans!! :)

    March 7th - My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 stars! - I really liked it!!

Okay when I first started this book, I was confused, and the book seemed pieced together. I read parts that were worded awkwardly, and I thought the two authors did not write well together. BUT (and it is a big one because it all changed!!) and I'm not sure when it changed, that awkwardness disappeared, and you couldn't tell it was two authors writing it. I'm not sure if part of the awkward could be contributed to this being the first book in a new series! This story is awesome, and I would totally have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the beginning confusion. The back story is tragic to both the female and male lead, but it helps draw you into their lives. The drama, battles, and connections between the characters are exciting. I was not happy where the ending left you hanging, but I will definitely be reading the next book which I'm sure was the point :) It is definitely worth reading to all PNR fans!! :)

3.0 out of 5 stars good read 28 Feb. 2014

This was a good read well written Apart from being a bit disjointed and chaotic. I was confused in stages as it wasn't clear from what perspective the book was going with and thus resulted in a lot of confusion. Towards the end it was more clearer what was happening but lost the momentum in the original plot to find out what red was and the connection between her grandmother and the wolves.
