Beauty in Words 13 Jan 2001

This book offers a number of quotations by various Native Americans from different tribes. What they all have in common is a way of expressing an idea in such a beautiful way that the words immediately fill your head with images. To read the book cover to cover will leave you with a greater understanding of how the Native Americans respected the life and land around them. But should you take your time, denying yourself the luxury of reading ahead, sit quietly and read only one passage per day, reflecting on the words and wisdom, then you will see the beauty in all it's glory. I thank the editors for bringing this book to the public, the magic in the words should not be lost.

A lovely little book full of wise words, wife loves it, so easy to go to and get some inspiration from.

I have three of these books so I can keep them everywhere I go. I love this little book more than all the rest, and want to live life as described in these pages. It is the poetry of prayer.

Here is one of my favorite quotes from the book:

What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the Sunset.
