Book Description

26 Feb 2013 Beauty Series
They agreed on three months ... but their love knew no boundaries. Jack McLachlan is a winemaking magnate and easily one of Australia's most eligible bachelors. His success and wealth make him no stranger to the complications of romantic relationships and that's why he goes to extreme measures to avoid the hassle. He prefers simplicity in the form of a beautiful female companion with no strings attached. He arranges relationships like business deals and they're always the same. No long term relationships. No real names. It's his game and his rules. He's content to play as usual, but when Laurelyn Prescott enters his life, his strategy must change because this player is like none he's ever encountered. His world is turned on its head after he begins a three month affair with the beautiful American musician. Nothing goes according to plan and as he breaks more and more of his own rules for her, she's exceptionally close to becoming something he never thought possible. His ultimate game changer.

I find this review rather hard to write as I have enjoyed the story to a certain extent. I downloaded the book after reading the reviews and also book two at the same time, but the more I read the more I couldn't stop seeing all the obvious similarities to Fifty shades of grey trilogy. The more I read the more disappointed I felt about it, it is not just the odd one but loads!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars easy 5 stars 15 Jun 2013
By Willow
Format:Kindle Edition
OMG, Jack McLachlan - I don't know what to say - he has blown me away. I've read so many books lately with the rich (usually billionaire) hot guy and young (usually non perfect) girl, but this book was just different from it all.

Laurelyn is traveling with her best friend Addison to Australia to visit Addison's brother for 3 months. It's just what she needs, a break from her life and away from men. Addison seems to have a different idea for Laurelyn though, she seems to be trying to set her up with her brother Ben, only Laurelyn isn't interested.

Jack, owner of several wineries and a very rich man, is out looking for the next woman to spend some time with him. He has strict rules on his "relationships" he only usually takes company for 3-4 weeks. He's up front and tells the women this, the agreement is that they get to be together for the specified time, he will make sure they have the time of their lives. They will not share personal details and not tell each other their real names and then when the specified time is over they will walk away and never look back. Jack has to do this, he doesn't want complications and he doesn't want people to know who he is. This time though he is looking for someone special, he is looking for someone for 3 months. Getting bored, with no one capturing his attention, he's about to leave the bar where an open mic night is on. As he's leaving she steps on stage and starts to sing. She captivates him and he's determined to meet her.

They meet, he tells her what he wants, the rules to his game and they agree to have this arrangement for the three months she's here. It's perfect - they both know what they are getting and in three months she will be leaving and will be miles away......... But rules can be broken right?

2.0 out of 5 stars Predictable 13 Jun 2013
By Bubble
Format:Kindle Edition
Yet another erotic novel about a wealthy man with commitment issues who falls in love. It's so repetitive it's become boring. And don't people have morals in books such as this one? There doesn't seem to be any holding back with expressing his sexual intentions to a girl he's only just met. Yet another hero with no sense of discretion. What is it with guys in these books pouring their hearts out and discussing emotions like they're a bunch of women with pms. He's suppose to be Australian but sounds more American from his choice of wording except for the odd "mate". I was lured to buy this by its star rating but I'm regretting it. I just don't feel any soul in it.

This is a good story although yet another cliff-hanger - sigh.

This loses a star because it isn't complete but also because it ends at 86 percent on my kindle and the rest is filled with blurb.

Anyhow, back to the story - Jack McLachlan is a very rich Australian wine magnate. He buys everything including his anonymity. This allows him to have carnal, non-emotive sexual relationships with attractive, mature and refined women, he makes an agreement with them that will last 3/4 weeks with the absolute understanding that they will go their seperate ways at the end. It's brutal and unfeeling but it's worked well for him. Jack is ready for the next one and he is at a bar when a young singer gets up during 'open mic' time, she's stunning and interesting - she's the next one.

Laurelyn Prescott is flying from America to Australia with her best friend Addison, they are staying at Addison's brother Ben's house for the next three months, Laurelyn is escaping from a broken involvement and betrayal, her heart is feeling battered. She needs this break to have fun and get some distance.

So, when Jack decides on Laurelyn and with his blunt proposal for a relationship things start to get interesting. Of course, how will they both be able to keep an emotional distance when things start to get very intense. Throw in complications with Ben who also wants Laurelyn and Laurelyn's sassy personality and of course sparks fly.

This is a great story told by both POV's in their own chapters, I really like this style of writing and the ending is predictably, annoyingly tantalising. I just can't guarantee that I will be as invested in book no. 2 if it's ages coming, there are loads of good books out there so I don't want to read this again just to be able to read the next instalment. I am now waiting on a lot of book 2's, some of them I will not bother to read, I hope this isn't one of them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very basic writing 19 Jun 2013
Each to their own but this was not my cup of tea. Zero descriptions of Australia, just 'it has a great view'... What great view? Describe please. There is no sense of place in this book, the only things described are what people are wearing.

Not even wines are described and the hero is meant to be a wine magnet. 'Two glasses of Shiraz'... He could do better than that. Someone who knew about wine would be ordering a particular wine from a particular year... This book is unconvincing, bland. Sorry but this book didn't transport me anywhere, least of all to Australia.
