Beauty-Boxes Valene Pink Cosmetics and Make-up Beauty Case

First of all, delivery of the box was hassle free and very speedy. Although the Amazon box was open when it arrived which made me raise my eyebrows a bit, the inner box containing the vanity case was still sealed, so I presume it was simply packed into the Amazon "official" box in a bit of a hurry. No problems there.

Now, the case itself. It's a decent size and fits all of my makeup inside - it's worth noting that I'm not a very heavy make up user and tend to have just a couple of each item (two blushers, two eye shadows, three lipsticks, one lip gloss, two mascaras, etc) so if you're a major make up enthusiast and have hoards of the stuff, this case will probably be too small for you. Your mileage may vary on what consists of "a lot of make up", of course. As mentioned in another review, the compartment sizes are a bit annoying - the smaller upper tiers are mere millimetres too small for my lipsticks, which had to be delegated to the longer compartments below instead. I've stored eyeshadows and concealers etc in the upper tiers but these still leave rather unsightly gaps that are too small to be filled with any other bits and pieces but are still noticeably big. The make up I use (generally of the Benefit brand) is, for the most part, standard industry size, so I am not sure why the compartments have not been measured to accommodate for these standards. Another point is the "lock" on the top of the case - if you have siblings or roommates with, shall we say, "sticky fingers", this case is not going to do you any good. The clasp is solid but the lock itself is barely functional and is more there for appearances than actual use. As I never intended to use the lock this doesn't really bother me, but if you want a secure place to store your make up, look somewhere else.

Although I sound very negative here, these are in fact very minor problems. The case does its job, and it does it in a presentable fashion on the whole. It's sturdy, pretty well made and seems reliable enough if you handle it with respect (wrenching it open forcefully will no doubt knacker the clasps and hinges). The colour (in this case pink) appears exactly as presented on the website, and it is a very charming little box. Despite the compartmental issues I am very pleased with my purchase, as it does as advertised: my make up is stored neatly, can be moved around without a fuss, and is easily accessible. It will last me long enough to justify the price and no longer will I have to peer underneath the dresser to locate an escaped eye liner.

Bought for daughter to get her junk together (lol, other parents know what I mean) and at first glance this box does the bizz, a spacious bottom portion, 2 good sized middle drawers but daughter was let down by the top 2 drawers. These are sub divided into thirds and these compartments were too small to adequately place her compacts and lipsticks. Some lippys go in sweet as a nut, but the longer ones have to go in diagonally taking up all the space and her compacts take up a compartment all on their own as they only sit in with one edge resting on the top of the compartment. Perhaps we bought her above average sized compacts and lippys, but surely someone in the design department looked at the average size of makeup. Daughter is well happy with box overall, just a little bit niggled with such an oversight. As she goes away a lot, this will probably be her travel case and we'll buy a larger one in the same range as it is a sturdy enough case.

Just received my beauty box now, was very looking forward to getting it because i'm fed up of storing my expensive Benefit make-up in a tiny little make up bag, losing hair clips/bobbles and having to throw the pretty packaging away from my make up because it's too bulky to fit in my make up bag.

Box is a gorgeous shade of baby pink, just like the picture. Come with 2 keys to lock the top of it. Has plenty of compartments and space for all your girly needs.

One minor minor flaw is that the hinges are a little rattly, but the box is perfect otherwise. And surely someone shouldn't buy a cosmetics case on the basis that the hinges make a little noise when you open it!
