Product Description
Beauty and the Beast is based on the classic children's story about a merchant who lives in the country with his three daughters. Two of the daughters, are very unkind and treat their sister Beauty as a servant. One day, the merchant gets lost in the forest and enters a strange castle. In the castle's garden he plucks a rose, suddenly the castle's owner appears. He is a monster, half-human and half-beast with magical powers. The castle owner is furious and accuses the merchant of theft. He sentences the merchant to death, unless one of his daughters replaces him. Beauty sacrifices herself and agrees to marry the Beast and live in his castle in order to save her father's life. As time passes she discovers that the Beast is not so wild and as inhuman as it looks and as slowly her fear turns to love.

This DVD sucks! The only thing going for it is that they stick to the original version of the story and that's why I gave it two stars. No subtitles and the syncing of the voices to the mouth movements (sorry I don't know the technical term for that) is TERRIBLE. It makes it hard to watch.

this was not the movie i wanted.very misleading due to cover of dvd. this is not the disney movie, i will be returing this to amazon,

I was very disappointed that this was not the Disney movie but my niece liked it anyway. If you are buying this for a child that doesn't know any better, then it won't matter.
