A first for Berlie! 9 Aug 2008
Format:Paperback
The beautiful place in the title of Berlie Doherty's first and as yet only murder mystery is her own idylic Edale in the English Peak District. Teenager Shaun discovers a body and is soon the chief suspect in a murder investigation. Only Caroline really believes in his innocence. Can they find the real killer before Shaun is arrested? More importantly, will Shaun and Caroline ever share a kiss? Funny yet moving, always sharply observed. More like this, please Berlie!

Format:Paperback
A fairly short teenage book totally set in Edale, Derbyshire, where Berlie lives. The main character is a boy and when he finds a purse full of money, a jacket and then some binoculars he is set on returning them to their reclusive owner. However he's also a little concerned as she seems pre-occupied, so when he goes to check up on her, finds a dead body in her pond and so becomes the suspect in her murder. What then untangles is the story of her life and aided by his soon to be girlfriend, Caroline, he sets about trying to unravel the clues and solve the murder in order to clear his name.
