Book Description

The Beautiful Disaster phenomenon continues in the first heart-pounding new adult romance in The Maddox Brothers series.

Fiercely independent Camille "Cami" Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn't have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with her first weekend off in almost a year.

Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.

Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlour to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.

As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she'll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever - even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart.

In the first instalment of The Maddox Brothers series, readers can experience the rush of reading Beautiful Disaster for the first time, all over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Maddox boys!!! 8 July 2014
By Kelly
Format:Kindle Edition
5 big fat stars

Oh sweet jesus Jamie McGuire you are outstanding you blow my mind with this book.

I felt like I was inside this book and watching all the scenes take place from the time Trenton met Cami right up to the very end.

I thought Travis was hot but damn Trenton is outstandingly sexy as hell but I would not turn down any of the Maddox men.

I like Cami she is a sweet, sexy girl who has a boyfriend but she starts to talk and get to know Trenton and thing start hotting up between them even tho Cami tries to just be friends with Trenton it get's to hard for her and then the feelings starts to take over.

Trenton is badass but with a big heart, as Jamie McGuire said "when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever" you know something thoses word are true they do love forever.

Don't get started on the ending, the ending was fantastic blow me away.

I can't wait to read more of these Maddox boys.

Great book Jamie McGuire you should be proud of yourself you did a fantastic job on this book and your writing is outstanding, looking forward to the rest of your books.

5.0 out of 5 stars The YA Bookshelf 13 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is NOTHING like Beautiful Disaster. You know when you read a book from a particular series & there are similarities between writing style/the tone of the book? There was none of that here, aside from character names there are no similarities.

All I remember when I think of Beautiful Disaster is 'intense' but Beautiful Oblivion is more of a steady slope - a gradual descent into intensity rather than an all-at-once kind of thing like Travis & Abby's story.

I was confused at first as to when this book was set (was it before or after Beautiful Disaster?) but that didn’t last long- it was set to just before Abby met Travis & then later on both Abby & Travis’ & Cami & Trenton’s relationship played out simultaneously. Which was fun because it meant that us readers got an alternative point of view on Abby and Travis from time to time, not to mention an unseen scene from Beautiful Disaster, all through Cami’s eyes. It was great to be back in the world of Beautiful Disaster even for a brief time.

It took me a minute to process the twist but when I did let me tell you, my eyeballs damn near popped out of their sockets and my jaw hit the floor! Who would have thought? And no, I’m not telling you what the twist was you’ll just have to read the book for yourself ;)… But it is TOTALLY worth reading I can tell you that... And not just so you can find out the twist. For the storyline, the supporting characters (who were incredibly entertaining!) and last but not least Cami & Trenton.

I was beyond excited when I first found out Jamie was writing a series of books about the Maddox brothers & I was right to be excited because Beautiful Oblivion is a great addition to the Beautiful set of books and I can’t wait to add it to my personal library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jaw droppingly good reading 12 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
So I'm a huge Jamie McGuire fan as it is (and if you've shied away from reading Red Hill or the Providence Series you don't know what you're missing) and I'd set high expectations for this book based on her previous writings.

And I'm more than happy to say that she pushed the bar way above what I expected! Some people say that 'Trenton is no Travis', my response to that is of course he's not, he's a different person who has different motives and a different past that defines who he is - but he's still one hell of a character who knows what he wants. Cami is the same - she's not a carbon copy of Abby - if she was that would be predictable and that's the one thing Jamie doesn't do, sure she can lull you into a false sense of security before ripping the rug out from under your feet with a heck of a twist, but at least she doesn't write the same old same old!

I can't wait for there to be more stories about the Maddox brothers and I can't wait to see what kind of girls end up with the rest of them (I'm secretly really looking forward to the twin's stories - cause one Maddox is more than enough so who knows what's going to happen when the twins find their women).

So get 'Cashmere comfortable' and read this book, you won't be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Those Maddox brother's just keep getting better! 12 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When I downloaded the kindle app to my phone the first book I read on it was Beautiful Disaster, I fell hook line and sinker in love with Travis Maddox and my love for broken bad boys began!

Since meeting Trenton in the first book I'd been waiting to find out more about him, he'd appeared to be fiercely protective of his brothers and I liked that! Finally my waiting was over and Beautiful Oblivion appeared ready to read and was I disappointed err hell no! I still love Travis but he's sharing top spot with several other bad boys including his older brother now!

I felt for Cami and her confusion and her attempts to hurt no one but sometimes you can't fight the inevitable.

I'm not going to give anything away about the story but I'll just say that I had an inkling where I was being taken but I'm pretty sure that's because I remembered snippets from the other books!

Don't expect to be reading this long because you won't be, once you start you will just not be able to put it down and then you'll be champing at the bit for the next book :)
