The best erotic writing is, I think, not just about arousal but also about good story-telling. This book has a variety of plots and characters and no two stories are alike. What all do have in commom is the quality of the writing. It is not that the erotic charge is incidential, it is central. But this is not just about hot guys having sex. The book touches not just on lust but also on love, obsession and pain. Some of these stories deserve writing awards on their literary merits, regardless of the erotic charge, which is nonetheless always there to the degree you would expect. Everyone will have his favourite. Mine was 'Palomino', a sad/happy story about love between two American outlaws in which toughness and tenderness war with each other and in which the sweet sexiness of love and lust between two men is beautifully portrayed.
