Time to Rockband with the Beatles!,
By Rhys J "Muddyfox" (Wales, UK) - See all my reviews
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Beatles: Rockband - Value Edition (Wii) (Video Game)
All the way up to Christmas I was constantly thinking to myself, I love the Beatles and video games, but do I really want this game, what could be fun about just pressing buttons and hitting drum pads in time? - Actually turns out loads of fun!I own the Limited Edition bundle myself (more on that below), but I managed to play this Value Edition as my cousin owns it. Ok if you strip Rockband down it is ultimately just pressing the right coloured guitar button, or hitting the correct drum pad - but that is such a poor way to describe it, and it's not as easy as it sounds, once you select a difficulty higher than EASY you will start to struggle and some serious practice will be required for you to prefect any song! What's great is that the game allows each individual player to select a difficulty that suits them, what that means is if you stick a beginner and a professional together on a song they can both play to their own level of ability - rather than the professional choosing professional difficulty and the beginner being blown away by how hard it is, and vice versa. The Value Edition itself is a great pack which includes: 1xGuitar 1xDrum Kit 1xMicrophone 1xBeatles Rockband Game As I said I own the Limited Edition bundle, but I know this Value Edition edition is basically the standard Rockband kit, as opposed to the The Beatles Rock Band - Limited Edition Premium Bundle (Wii) which comes with some replica versions of the Beatles instruments. When playing I didn't encounter any instrument problems, I gave everything a go (even did some bad singing!) and they all worked great. The Value Edition to me is better for people who enjoy the Beatles, but who aren't die-hard fans who know every song and will want to pay extra for the replica instruments. = So in all, this is such a fun game, it's also worth noting that the game allows up to six players to play together all at one time (if you purchase some extra microphones) so get all your friends and family together - it's fun to play on its own but the true beauty of the game is in the multiplayer, enjoy!

Fantastic value!,

This review is from: The Beatles: Rockband - Value Edition (Wii) (Video Game)
The Beatles: Rock Band is a fantastic game that is superbly presented and great fun to play. If you want to buy a set of drums, guitar and microphone to play with other Rock Band games or Guitar Hero 5 then this is the best option because Rock Band: Band in a Box (Wii) appears to always be out of stock and the Guitar Hero: World Tour - Complete Band Game (Wii) is more expensive.
