Previous reviewers have missed the point. This is an historic document of the Fabs triumphant appearance at Shea Stadium. This particular DVD is actually a "grey area" release, I.E. of dubious legality.

What fans should know about this is that the main body of the film comprises the actual "live" performances given on the day. This is opposed to the official film of the event, which features heavily overdubbed, and in one instance (Act Naturally), studio recordings. Thus, the recently surfaced "bootleg" audio tape of the show has been grafted onto the official film of the performance, with variable results (some tracks feature stills as there is no circulating footage of these performances). It's worth noting that all films of shea have some "out of synch isssues". So if you want to see AND hear the Beatles "real" performance at Shea stadium then buy this. If you want some heavily sanitized version, wait till you have gt grandchildren, by then EMI/Apple and the surviving decendants of the Fabs may have come to some aggrement as to releasing the film shown on TV in 1966, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting!

I knew it was a mistake buying this as soon as I opened the case. Usually, the insert gives some explanation as to what's on the disc in the form of liner notes, etc. The four page insert for this DVD has a copy of the back of the case on page three: and that's it! If the company behind it, MC (whoever that is), can't be bothered with the insert, what hope is there for the film itself? The outer sleeve doesn't hold out much hope either..

As big a Beatle fan as I am, even I squirmed when I watched this. The thing that attracted me was 'Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby' listed on the box as track seven. Yes, the song is certainly there but the film isn't! It's merely a collage of stills, a dirty trick also used for 'She's A Woman', which isn't listed. MC may well hold the rights to issue this but with seemingly minimal investment in the product, it can only be seen as a nasty attempt at cashing in on anything Beatle related.

The box claims, "Excellent quality - from the original 35mm film" but to me it looks no more than a straight copy of the TV version. As the previous reviewer says, wait until Apple issue the complete, unadulterated film. (We can but live in hope.)

Complete waste of money. Bad quality, poor sound. Wish i hadn't had bothered. My advice is to any true Beatles fan is to wait until Apple or whoever owns the copywright releases the official dvd themselves.
