Synopsis
As part of the "Gale Critical Companion Collection", a series on various topics in literature and humanities, this volume is designed to develop critical thinking skills, understand different forms of literature and link literature to developments in cultures and historical events. The first volume contains an overview of the literature of the Beat Generation and topics relevant to the Beat Generation. It contains primary source documents and critical material. The topic entries provide historical, social and literary context for authors and works. The second and third volumes include, in alphabetical order, 27 entries on literary figures associated with the movement. The entries include an introduction to the author or topic, representative works list, primary source accounts/documents and reprinted full-text critical commentary.
