More About the Author

Sarah Courtauld lives in London and writes and illustrates funny books for children. Her favourite children's writers are Andy Stanton, Cressida Cowell and Lemony Snicket, although her all time favourite children's book is The Princess Bride.

Although is that really a children's book? She thinks of it more as a "timeless repository of wisdom for all humans".

She owns more pencils than is strictly necessary and can often be found drawing the goats in her local park. Her favourite cheese is "all of them". Buckle and Squash and The Monstrous Moat Dragon is not her first children's book, but it's the first one with jokes in it.

Acclaim for Buckle and Squash & the Monstrous Moat Dragon:

"Why would you buy this? Don't you know what those things are made of? Stop taunting me! Get away from me!"
Sidney The Tree.

"Funnier than most hoover manuals,"
Alfred Smallbucket, International Hoover Review.

"Delicious!"
Gertrude the goat.

This simple non-fictional account about bears was done well. I really like the cute bear illustrations. I'm saving this book till my son is older and then I'll let him read it to me! It is interesting to learn there are only 8 types of bears in the world.
