I am very pleased with this book as it is for beginners as well as more experienced bear makers, I particularly liked the added extra projects, such as making glove puppets and even glove puppets for the teddy's themselves which is a novelty, also a marionette teddy complete with his own stand.
Lots of hints and tips to make things easier, the pictures of the bears and the story that goes with them really made me smile.
Beginners will easily be able to make the unjointed bears,I would say there is something for bear makers of all levels to enjoy, even miniature bears are included if you don't mind something that is a bit 'fiddely'.

Best for Bearmakers 25 Nov. 1999
By Linda J. Shoberg - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Bearmaking 101 is an EXCELLENT book. I have been making jointed Teddies for many, many years and I find this book a MUST for any bearmakers complete library. Illustrations are clear. Instructions are easy using both inches and millimeters. She illustrates sizes with phrases such as "using the size of a U.S. nickel". Pictures are brilliant. With this book, you will be making a wonderful bear in no time. Unlike other artists' books, Carol-Lynn Rossel Waugh puts the tools and materials section in the back of the book. Be sure to check this out before you start your bear. Buy THIS book. You won't be sorry

The best teddybear-book I have ever seen 17 April 2001

Absolutelly THE best book!! I started to make teddies a year ago and got more and more absorbed... As my interest grew so did my collection of bearmaking-books. Of all my books this one is my absolute favorite. The pictures alone would get you started right away! It describes everything into the smallest detail, gives excellent tips and containes beautiful patterns.
I really liked this book 12 Sept. 2014

I really liked this book. There's a fantastic pattern that only takes one piece that was a bit confusing, but makes sense after you re-read the instructions. She shows how to make very nice faces, and she explains the difference between the types of jointing. The only thing I didn't care for the book is that the first pattern has pictures of an earlier version; a refined pattern is provided that mas minor differences so the techniques are the same, but it feels unpolished.
All in all this is a book I would recommend for any collection or bear maker.

This is the teddy bear making book that I always have out and refer to. Her bear faces are adorable and she shows you how to make all of the detail in the faces. Great color pictures, very detail instructions.
