Book Description

14 May 2012
He's big, burly, and way smarter than your average shapeshifting bear. He's also about to get trapped by own his game...Lou Crushek is a reasonable, mellow, easygoing kind of guy. But once someone starts killing the scumbags he works so hard to bust, that really gets under his fur. Especially when that someone is a curvy she-tiger with a skill set that's turning Crush's lone-bear world upside down - and bringing his passion out of hibernation...As a member of an elite feline protection unit, Marcella Malone has no problem body-dropping anyone who hunts her kind. But Crush is proving one major pain in her gorgeous tail. The only reason she's joined forces with him is to track down the wealthy human who's got her entire species in his ruthless sights. It sure isn't because Crush's stubborn and contrary attitude is rubbing Cella in all the right ways...

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great story to add to a brilliant series 2 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Again Shelly Laurenston has written a funny, sexy, brilliant story with a great cast of characters that kept me turning the pages until the book was finished. As always, there are re-apperances from the lead characters in the previous books and it was good to catch up with all of them as well as watching the relationship between Cella and Crush develop.

I cant reccomend this series enough!

Bear Meets Girl is the seventh book in the Pride series and has everything you would expect from Ms. Laurenston. It is great to catch up with some of the colourful characters that are in this series and as usual there is a wacky time to be had by all with lots of humour along the way.

This book is about Cella "Bare Knuckles" Malone and Lou Crushek. Cella is a KGS contractor and plays pro hockey and Lou is a straight nailed cop who is obsessed with everything hockey. They first meet after a drunken night at a party with lots of Jello shots and soon discover that their jobs entwine following a discovery that a taxidermist is hunting down and killing shifters.

This book can be read as a stand alone, but if you haven't read any of Ms. Laurenston's books before, I would strongly recommend starting the Pride series from the beginning. This way the reader is able to understand the makeup of the different shifter organisations that are mentioned in Bear Meets Girl, as well as personally get to know the likeable characters as most have had had their stories told previously.

Bear Meets Girl is a book that I couldn't put down and at times couldn't help but laugh out loud. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will look forward to the next book, just hope it isn't a too long a wait!

I am a huge Shelly Laurenston fan and love all her books but I adore this series the books are always funny, hot and have great story lines, Lou Crushek is a polar bear shifter who is a mellow, and easygoing kind of guy, Cella Malone is a curvy she-tiger with a skill set that's turning Crush's lone-bear world upside down--and bringing his passion out of hibernation. . . these two couldn't be more diffferent but when there together the sparks fly, I love that when Shelly Laurenston writes a book it often shows the hot woman chasing a hot man with loads of great one-liners and this is no exception Cella is laugh out load funny her family are great and her relationship with Dee from the previous book is hilarious, loads of characters from previous books here too, well worth the money cant wait for the next one!

4.0 out of 5 stars "Pride" series book 7 21 July 2013
By Book Addict TOP 500 REVIEWER
Only SL can create a likeable female lead with the moniker "Bare Knuckles Malone". Shape shifting tigress Cella puts previous heroines to shame with her sass, brass and a sense of humour that borders on the ridiculous.

Her polar opposite (pun intended) is Lou "Crush" Crushek, a polar bear shifter working for the NYPD. He looks like a thug and so infiltrating the seedier side of life is easy. Yet when his cover is blown and he has to switch divisions he thinks things cannot get any worse. Nope, try waking up with a hangover from hell and a naked and annoyingly chirpy Cella draped over him.

As her family pressure her into dating (they think she's in denial as the father of her daughter is about to get hitched) Cella blocks any attempts of matchmaking with the presence of her pretend boyfriend Crush. He can't quite understand why he's agreeing to Cella's plans, but crazy seems to follow her around and maybe it's catching?

There's fights galore (both verbal and physical) in this fast moving romance, with plenty of action and drama as Cella and a number of familiar shape shifting faces try to uncover the treachery going on around them. SL continues to wow with her energetic dialogue and characters; they could all be trapped in a lift and entertaining events would still unfold. 4 stars

I throughly enjoyed this book. Besides the sizzling heat between the main characters, the story was told with a chock full of humour. I found this book to be one the most entertaining reads in a long time..
