When twinkie newbie and closet bear-chaser Tyler (Joe Conti) finally infiltrates New Yorks exclusive bear scene it doesnt take long for him to become infatuated with commitment-phobic Roger, the bonafide Casanova of muscle bears. As Tyler negotiates the trials and tribulations of his seemingly ellusive love, he finds himself drawn closer to the quirky and endearing characters populating the fabulous big bear community. Oozing with sexual tension and comic prescience, BearCity is a prime cut of movie-beef, and a rare trip into the bigger, and hairier, side of gay life!

If you like gay rom-coms and bears, then you'll love this.
I believed in all the characters, and cared about them too. Nothing too weighty about the film, shows the love and respect between a group of friends in the bear community. Sometimes laugh-out-loud funny, and others tearingly charming. I loved it.

i watched bear city last night i thought it was great enjoyed every moment,the actors were great fab stuff,i recommend it highly.

Yes `romance can be hairy', but in the mainstream it just never is normally, and that is why I got this. It is a love story about `bears', and as I am a tad hirsute myself (I think I am a Cub) I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
This is about young, cute twenty something Tyler coming out of the closet `for the second time', by admitting that he is into bears. Despite the fact that his flat mate can pull not one, but two Abercrombie and Fitch models and he is not interested! To any right thinking fan of Dorothy that is a sin.
Well he gets down on the `scene' and is treated really well as a newbie and falls for bear lothario Roger (Gerald McCulloch of CSI apparently) but he seems to be interested in , well just about every other twink going, and most of them are, going; going for it actually. That said there is only mild sex scenes in this, not enough to upset the cat , but enough to have to be shown after the water shed, if real gay films actually ever do make it to the small screen in this land of ours.
Any way he gets to meet Teddy Bears, Polar Bears, and even one worrying about his girth as he seems to be unemployable, yet his BF can't bear the idea of losing his daddy Bear.
I must say I found this endearing, enchanting, in some parts educational and in some parts funny. But this is not the all out comedy that I saw in the TLA trailer, but that is usually the norm with trailers. The main part is you can see why this won three awards all from gay film festivals. I have many gay or gay themed films and so was very pleased that this strayed from the well worn path of cute hairless guys and did it with a fair amount of furry panache. One of the really hair ones did gross me out a bit, but he was funny so all is forgiven. If you are wondering about whether to get this, I would say give it a go as alternative style films need to be encouraged.

One of the worst films I have ever seen
The lines were wooden, the characters were wooden, the story was wooden.

This film is an absolute must see for any gay Man who is part of or interested in the Bear Community, you'll relate to every character in it. Superb !!!

Good, but without WOW effect
As a fan of hairy bears I couldn't wait to see "Bear city". As far as I am concerned there is only one more title, which tells a story about gay bears, and this is "Bearcub". Read more

This is a must have...
This is a must have for every bear lover. Wonderful people and a nice story around relations of gay people makes this movie lovely. WOOF!
