Bought this for my wife who was going on a miniature beading course. She was delighted with it.

I really wanted this book and was quite horrified when Amazon said there was a poblem and they had not taken any money from me.
I waited a few days and then the company contacted me with apologies for the hitch and that the book had been dispatched. It arrived safely a couple of days later.
So, despite it taking longer for this order to arrive, I was kept up to date and it did arrive in good condition.

Very informative book! 3 Nov. 2009
By Teneniel2 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I was thumbing through this book the other day at a local craft store. What I found prompted me to purchase it and I absolutely love it. The book is filled with actual photographs of tools, supplies, terminology, techniques and finished products. If you have ever wondered how to finish a piece of jewelry without it looking "homemade" then this book is for you. That is one of the primary reasons I made this purchase.

In addition to finishing techniques it offers a lot of beading ideas and instructions. I'm not into that but if I was, I wouldn't be disappointed. This is a great reference book and worth the money.

Great Beading Resource 22 Nov. 2009
By Hot Air Ballooner - Published on Amazon.com

This book is wonderful. My wife and I both do beading. It includes the basics and advanced techniques in a manner that is easy to read and understand. It will be the new "go to" book that we'll be using frequently. I highly recommend this reference to beginners and experts and anyone in between.

A good overview 27 Dec. 2011
By Amy Henrick - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Some things try to be everything to everyone. This book tries to cover quite a lot of ground- wire work, stringing, weaving, etc. Quite a lot of material is packed into these pages, which would be a good deal for a beginner needing guidance in selecting materials and basic techniques for using them. But I think the descriptions for techniques leave a lot to be desired. They try to describe hand motions instead of just illustrating the movements in pictures, and the descriptions are sometimes hard to follow- along the lines of "rotate your hand forward, then reposition the pliers." Reposition how exactly? They even try to describe knot tying parenthetically rather than simply diagramming the steps. You can figure it out if you try, but they could have made it easier.

they do have pictures for some techniques showing common mistakes- a "right" picture and a "wrong" picture. In at least one case I'm aware of there is a misprint and the "right" and "wrong" labels are mismatched, although the written description is correct. (It's the description for making the second loop on a bead connector.)

Good advice well laid out for materials selection and project planning, however. Like I said, a good overview for a beginner.

Great book packed with info 10 Dec. 2009
By Julie Ann - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Wonderful book for the novice and beyond. It covers stringing, wirework, and beading, along with an extensive "getting started" section. I love the photos, they are absolutely beautiful and plentiful with lots of close-ups throughout. The info concise and clear. I have been trying to self teach myself bead stitches, and using other books and magazines, have been unable. I think with this book, I will be successful.

I highly recommend this book. It is a great learning and reference tool. The size is a bit smaller than other books, but it is jam-packed.

Great resource 17 Jun. 2010
By KCreader - Published on Amazon.com

I love this book! The author covers tools, design and color (though I would have liked more extensive coverage of these two subjects), stringing, wirework, and beadweaving. I am mostly a beadweaver, and appreciated the tips and the step-by-step, close-up photos of beadweaving stitches. She covers ladder, brick, herringbone, peyote, and square stitches, as well as right angle weave, tubular beadwork, spiral rope, chains, and how to finish your beadwork. The layout breaks up the text into easy to read sections, with, for example, small boxes for "See Also" and "Fix It" (troubleshooting). I can see myself going back to this book repeatedly.
