I bought this book a little while ago and I was not disappointed. The designs are beautifull and very inspiraring. The pictures are very clear for you to see. The beads needed to make the desgins also very clear. I find it very usefull if you already have experience with certain types of bead stitching, but their examples are not too hard to follow. The picture examples makes it even easier. This is a book if you want to create something very different and unusal. A definate must buy.

An excellent starter book on beading collars. (Necklaces). The pictures and instructions are clear and once the general principals of making these collars is mastered, the reader can then move on to designing and creating their own beaded collars and bracelets too.

Most certianly 10/10.

I am very pleased that I bought this book. I have many beading books and none have anything like what is in this book. They are very original and beautiful projects. I have not made anything yet but I think the instructions and diagrams look quite understandable. All of the projects have the same basic principle but the final looks are very different and they showcase the techniques well. I am looking forward to making my first beaded collar.

A great basic reference 4 April 2008
By Linda L. Jones - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I've greatly admired Julia Pretl's fantastic collars and pre-ordered this book. I hope that Julia considers putting out an advanced version - because I'd hoped to learn how she incorporated bead embroidered pieces into her collars and didn't find any reference to that here. Still, I give her book full marks as a reference and learning tool. The information is clear, the illustrations second-to-none and the projects are interesting. Although the concept of the collars is simple - learning how to construct and use a template, how to use one or two needle methods and her many tips are invaluable. I know I'll enjoy teaching myself her methods. Next book - my wish list is some additional embellishment techniques and a gallery section, but for now - I feel I more than got my money's worth from this excellent book.

Beaded Collars 23 Mar. 2008
By Paul E. Kiefer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is well written and helpful pictures to help you get started making collars. Bead work and different ways of making the collars are very helpful. There are alots of steps to make the collars but the book makes it very easy to understand how to incurperate different patterns into one collar. I recommend this book for any beader beginners and ones that have been beading for years. I am sure anyone that gets this book will really like it like I do.

Excellent 2 May 2009
By Talula_Rouge - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is a very simple book to understand. The description of how to map out your own collars is lovely. It cuts out the time of hunting on the web for the measurements, adjustments, etc. needed to make a circular piece of jewelry lay flat on the neck.

She gives you plenty of projects to try as well.

If you have at least some basic bead weaving experience you should be able to follow this book! I highly recommend it!
