I have Bead Fantasies and Bead Fantasies II - the pictures are fantastic, the projects are lovely and very inspiring...but, I have found that the more complicated design patterns are ruddy hard to understand and follow.
There are a few pages at the back of both books which have pictures of different findings - which is great for the beginner, as well as some basic instructions for some basic techniques - very useful.

Yet another stunningly beautiful book from Takako Samejima. Wonderful photographs and illustrations accompany each design, taking you through them one step at a time. This is a beading book to own and learn from.

Despite what the title says, there is nothing easy about following the instructions for this book! Easy-to-make this is not! The jewellery is beautiful, the illustrations make for some serious eye candy, and some of the simpler designs can be figured out. But even for the experienced beader, somewhere along the line, a few of the more detailed instructions have been lost (lost in translation from the original Japanese perhaps?) and certainly, the more complex designs are damn hard to follow! The other thing is that to make most of these projects, you need exactly the right components - which aren't always that easy to find.
All that said, the designs are beautiful and inspiring - but you might just find yourself tearing out your hair in frustration after a few of your "bead fantasies" turn into nightmares!
