Product Description

Product Description

In the introduction, the author describes her discovery of beads as a child and her lifelong fascination with them. Next are colour photographs of 10 of the 71 pieces, which include necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, brooches, hair ornaments, cell phone straps and eyeglass chains. The next 66 pages are devoted to brief instructions for the jewellery, supplemented by small colour photographs and detailed colour drawings. On the last few pages are descriptions of the beads used to make the jewellery, beading supplies, and some lessons covering basic bead-stringing, weaving and finishing techniques.

excellent buy 9 Feb 2004
Beautiful photos and detailed drawings of how to make various items have made the book comfortable to use. I found it full of interesting modern patterns which can be easily exchanged for other colour combinations. There is sufficient information which does not boggle the mind or complicate things and I found it inspiring and good to follow - I feel that it was an excellent buy.

Best book so far 15 Dec 2005
By A Customer
Out of the dozens of beading and jewellery books on my shelf this is by far the best one I own. Their second book 'Bead fantasies II' is a close runner up!
I don't know where she gets her ideas for the jewellery but they are stunning, and not difficult.
It was the first beading book I bought and I recommend it to anyone starting out in beading. I've even had the girls at the local bead shop ask me about the book after seeing one of the necklaces.

Absolutely fantastic! 23 Aug 2005
This is my absolute number one favourite bead book ever. The pieces here are so beautiful they take your breath away. At first glance, you expect such intricate, delicate things to be really difficult, but they're not: I was using this book pretty much from being a beginner.

Most of the pieces here are jewellery (necklaces, bracelets, rings, cell phone straps, glasses cords), but the designs are flexible and more experienced beaders will find inspiration to adapt them on every page. The instructions are very thorough, and the section at the end on findings and finishing was very useful.

I just can't wait for book 2 to come out!

Lovely designs, but charts a little complicated to follow. A superb book, but not for beginners I'm afraid.
