Utterly Brilliant 6 Mar 2001
Format:Audio CD
I was snowboarding on sunny mountains, speeding through blankets of snow when i first listened to this album. "Might Be Stars" erupted through my headphones and i experienced one of the biggest adrenalin rushes of my life, the songs are catchy, inspiringly beautiful, full of deeply meaninful sentiments and deserve to be a part of every record collection on Earth. "Dreamy Wednesdays" will make you gaze at your surroundings and receive them with the utmost happiness, that is the sheer beauty of the song. Watching The Wannadies play at Glastonbury 2000 in the early afternoon on the Second Stage made me realise that there is truly no justice on Earth.

The Wannadies, are a great and under-rated 5 piece from Sweden and this was the first album where they really started to show how great they were, from the sunny pop-rock of You and Me Song, via the anthemic Might Be Stars through to beautiful ballads such as the album ender Kid, this album is a consistent and suprisingly varied tour de force in how to make a great Indie pop-rock record. At at only 38 minutes long it leaves you Dying For More. That said they did go onto do an even greater album with Bagsy Me, that when comparing the two kind of puts this one in the shade.

Bouncey, jangly, pop 16 Nov 1999

This album is catchy and fun, always a good choice before you go out as a pick me up. I only really bought this for the 'You and Me Song' which is very addictive, however I have grown to really like the others. All pretty much in the same vein but if it cheers you up then it can only be a good thing!
