4.0 out of 5 stars Change you life, 17 Mar 2004
By
This review is from: Be Your Own Career Consultant: Where Do You Want to Be? (Paperback)
If, like me, you are having a bit of a career crisis - this is the book for you. It’s like a life map, showing you how to accurately and honestly assess where you are today, and then helping you to identify where it is you want to be tomorrow.

Although much of the information isn’t new, the book does set out in a structured and intelligent way methods and exercises which enable you to become 'your own career consultant,' so that you can make the decisions necessary to change you life - both at work and at home. This is supported by several real-life case studies, which show that you're not alone in facing difficult career and life decisions. (It's particularly interesting when the people involved make choices they would never even have considered before looking at their lives through the eye of a consultant!)

Like all self-help books, this book is not a miracle cure - you'll only get out of it what you put in - but, for me personally, reading the book has already helped me to identify some new choices in my life (they were always there in fact, but I had simply failed to recognise them), including a biggie that just might change my life for the better…

The book is easy to read, and has a pleasing design and layout. Buying it could be your first step on the road to a new life. Good luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars An essential guide to career change - a new approach!, 20 Aug 2003

This review is from: Be Your Own Career Consultant: Where Do You Want to Be? (Paperback)
A modern thought provoking approach to personal career development. Inspirational real life experiences and exercises at different stages in the book, unlock an individuals potential and how to achieve it.

Knowing that I had been honest with my answers to the questions, I was clear about changes needed to my professional life and confident that I could make those changes happen.

I finished it feeling very positive and motivated.
