I am pretty impressed with this album. Vanessa Carlton is certainly a very talented pianist and has one of those interesting voices - wouldn't win pop-idol and all the better for it.
The best things about this album for me are the playing (brilliant drums from Abe Laboriel Jnr and bass from Leyland Sklar) and the song '1000 miles' which is soooo catchy and has an excellent riff.
All in all I like this album and would give it an unqualified recommendation

Most people would probably walk past this album not knowing what talent is lying within the cover, probably because she hasn't had much success with the singles she has released. The album is absolutely outstanding, her songs are amazing and just by listening to the 12 tracks you can just hear that her forte is singing and piano. A number of her songs give a melancholic feel to the album which is great as it gives an overwhelming feeling instead of the poppy lovey songs of today. She does a great cover of the rolling stones "Paint it black", i believe that this album is worth listening to- if you like red hot chilli peppers, michelle branch and avril lavigne I'm sure you will enjoy singing along to vanessa's easy listening music

When I first bought Vanessa Carlton: Be Not Nobody, I liked a couple of songs off of it, namely Ordinary Day and A Thosand Miles. But as I listened more and more to this album, it just gets more and more scintillating time after time. I can honestly say that this is one of the best albums I have, and one of the most listened to! I never skip a track anymore. Songs that I hated at first like Pretty Baby have become something of my favourite. And gorgeous songs like Rinse, Paradise, Wanted, Twilight, Ordinary Day and of course A Thousand Miles make this a must for any music fan. Vanessa Carlton has an exceptionally beautiful voice. She is a fantastic singer who sings with her heart, which I admire respecfully. Vanessa Carlton has a new album coming out soon which I can't wait for. She hasn't dissappointd me yet. The new single of the new album, White Houses, is fantastic. She hasn't yet written a bad song. In fact shes never written a song that can be discribed as less than AMAZING!!!!!!

Good album, but voice a bit penetrating
I bought for one track only, which I am pleased with. Some other tracks are quite good, but VC's voice is a bit shrill at times, and can be irritating. Read more
