Bought these golf light bulbs as they are now hard to get hold of.
Have had several burn out within a few days of use, each time also blowing the fuse on my lamp and often tripping my home mains fusebox!
Never had this problem with 5 years of owning these lamps, so the bulb is clearly at fault.
Would recommend avoid at all costs - brand name is "PowerTech" rough service golf bulb.

Pearl globe (golf ball) bulbs have apparently been discontinued, by order of the Ubergruppenfuhrer in Brussels. If you have light fittings that take these bulbs and can't take (much larger) energy-saving bulbs, stock up on these now: once they're all gone, you'll have to change your light fittings or use the larger bulbs that will look silly. This is the only supplier I found that still has these.
These small round light bulbs are hard to find in the shops. They fit our lamps without poking above the shade. They are lasting well. Just the job.
