Bear's BSG scores are possibly my favourite TV scores ever. So i was happy to see a release of his stuff from The Plan and Razor. Yet another awesome mix of beautiful orchestral music mixed with rockier sounds - love it!

Bear McCreary has done it again with what is likely his final soundtrack for the incredible Battlestar Galactica series (unless they're going to continue it somehow). His music continues to be evocative and emotional yet capturing the feel of the series effortlessly. Of course, he has been doing the music in one form or another since the show started.
In particular, the first track is a great re-imagining of the opening theme from the series, redone with vocals from regular Raya Yarbrough and mixing in guitar work reminiscent of the third and fourth seasons. There is also a bonus live version of this track which is a nice addition.
I'd highly recommend this soundtrack to any fan of Battlestar Galactica and indeed anyone who enjoys McCreary's mix of musical styles.

If you are a fan of Bear McCreery's work then this will round out your collection of the themes and tunes he wrote for Battlestar Galactica series. Really he doesn't put a note wrong and as a collector this is a must have product. Also, you can have the pleasure of listening to the music from the plan without having to watch what was essentially a filler episode for the franchise. Basically a win-win scenario for fans of the music.
