This is a very interesting description of the Falklands land campaign. It is often criticial of the plans and concepts, yet always within a professional compass. It deals equally with the Argentinians and the British and tries to look at what alternative plans could have been followed. At times I found myself confused by which unit was where, but the individual maps are very helpful, perhaps the convention of putting one side's unit title in italics might have helped?

The author reveales many detailed informations not yet publicly known. He also frankly describes the acting of both sides which was not only brave and courageous but sometimes rather chaotic and badly organized, leading to the unnecessary loss of many lives.

This is quite an informative book whilst going into a lot of detail. It is however an uneasy book to read. I suspect that it has been put together from a wide variety of individuals detailed accounts. This results in what feels at the time, like an ad hoc compilation of those accounts. The flowing read that is required from a book so informative as this just wasn't quite 'there'. I was also expecting from a member of the intelligence gang, some behind the scenes info which just wasn't there. The content can all be found elsewhere. Still a decent attempt though!
