Lusitania didn't bring the USA into WWI directly, though it was a contributing factor. The USA did not enter the war until 2 years after the sinking. A number of American ships were torpedoed by the Germans and whilst many American citizens were lost with Lusitania, the Wilson administration considered attacks on US flagged ships to be a more direct act of war than a British flagged ship carrying its citizens.
