This DVD is an excellent retelling of the story of the hunt for the Bismarck. Alongside the history is the story of how both the wrecks of the Hood and the Bismarck were located on the seabed. The DVD includes stunning video of the wrecks from the bottom of the Atlantic. The video images show that the Hood apparently suffered a second explosion at the front of the ship which probably explains why only three of her crew survived. The images from the Bismarck lay to rest the claim that the Bismarck was scuttled by her own crew and not actually sank by the Royal Navy. It is clear that she suffered several torpedo hits and was flooded.
The interviews with the survivers from both sides is moving and fascinating. Particularly that of the last living survivor of the Hood. He was given the opportunity to visit the exploration ship and lay a wreath.

I have been mad keen on Royal Navy things for years and looked forward to this sort of video ever since this sort of technology became available.
This explains the hunt for Bismark, the final moments leading up to the loss of Hood, then the hunt and final moments of Bismark.
However, for those interested in the technical details of each ship; displacement, engine power, speed, armament details and capability, complement etc it is very light. I think that these details are central to the story and their omission is a serious error and substantially reduces the value of the video.
