Try it for yourself 20 July 2006
By avp2501
Format:Paperback
fantastic story and fantastic artwork. give the first book a try to see if you love it (its a love or hate thing with this series). films will always be hours too short to compare to manga series so the books win hands down.

who the hell said the translations are bad. its fantastic other than the odd typo, less mistakes than you'd find in any english novel by far.

and will people stop writting spoilers into their reviews.

>>>>WARNING<<<<

theres tons of blood, guts and some nudity / porn so dont read these if you are easily offended.

overall:

if your into action manga this is a must have series, your life will be incomplete without at least reading it once.

what will you find:

action / drama / martial arts / gun play / flashbacks / strong story lines for EVERY character, just as soon as you've grown to love a char hes dead / realistic situations and out comes - even if you dont want it to happen it does / love / loyalty / trust (sometimes) / gruesome deaths / plans and plotting / deviousness / honour / victory / close shaves / gangs / mentalists / stratergists / kindness and other goodie goodie qualities.

this series has everything possible in it

the author is a pure genius for creating this masterpiece

Just pure genius! 5 Nov 2006
Format:Paperback
I saw the film, and it was average. A good film, but not very in-depth. Unlike the manga, which is very deep and meaningful! Every character has their own seperate story, and the pure evil of Kazuo Kiriyama is fantastic! Mitsuko is sexy and deadly, while Shuya is the one with hope, who along with Kawada and Noriko, fight there way through the island!

WARNING! ::::This manga series is rated 18! Why? 'cause it contains, violence, sex, and the most horrible deaths imaginable!::::

As my warning implies, your in for a fright! But, if you think you can survive that, you are also in for a brilliant story! I almost cried when one of those characters died! This manga is a must have!

AIEEEE!!!!!!!!! 22 Feb 2006
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I dont really have anything amazingly clever to say about the BR manga series. I thought they were really good and they are my favourite adaptation of the Battle Royale series, having more depth than the film or book. The drawings were really cool and it was well written and the drawing captions were all set up in a cool order which made me envision the series like a well directed film. Character development goes into more depth and Kiriyama comes off looking very stylish.
