A martial arts zombie extravaganza from first time writer/director George Clarke, filmed and set entirely in Northern Ireland. When two opposing sides face-off in one of Belfast's worst ever riots, fate casts a nasty spell as an army of drug crazed zombies descend on the capital forcing the enemies to join as one, and stop this new threat from taking over the city. Caught in the middle, are three friends trying to escape to the East, only to find themselves surrounded by bigoted thugs, burning bridges, and high testosterone! Using hard-hitting martial arts, and constantly on the run, the three young heroes soon find out that the fight-loving thugs are only the least of their worries! This year, the 12th of July is going to be very, very, messy indeed.. Battle of the Bone - winner of the 2008 Audience Choice award at 'Freak Show Film Festival', Orlando, Florida.

Bad to the Bone 31 Oct 2008
Georg Clarke's Directorial Debut is something for all of Northern Ireland to be proud off. What this man has accomplished with a budget of only £10,000 defies believe.

Sure it may not have the special effects of a Hollywood blockbuster, but the effects are there, and more importantly it has pace and heart, something all to often lacking from big budget movies.

Set during a contentious Orange Order march on the 12th of July which see's the residents of Belfast rioting once more, 3 friends cross the devide, and have to fight their way through the worst violence the city has to offer. Just when they think they are over the worst, the Zombies attack.

What follows is 90 minutes of blood, gore, high kicking, high octane comedy, with a few obvious homages thrown in for good measure. This highly recommended film has even started to win awards across the pond, winning the coveted Audience's Choice award at this years Freak Show horror festival in Florida.

Buy it now, watch it at your lesure and love this classic... then all you have to do is to wait for the much anticipated sequal, 'The Slash my Father wore'.

Locally filmed kung-fu zombie movie with a twist. Two great genres pushed together for a very funny romp through Belfast's streets amidst the trouble. Forcing three friends and two community's to work together to win through.

As it should be. Highly recommended!! 5 stars.

Northern Ireland's first kung fu zombie movie. Filmed on a budget, it plays against tradition that all films set in Northern Ireland are about 'the troubles'. While this is set on 'The Twelfth' the story focuses on a zombie outbreak on the streets of Belfast, already plagued with rioters. 3 friends kick and punch their way across town with great style and wit. Highly recommended, original movie. Recently attacted high praise at a horror film festival in Florida i believe.
