After so many readings and watching reviews of third party battery grips for Nikon D600, I decided to trust the person who has written a good review for this particular products in Amazon.
I received mine today. The first impression is excellent build quality. in terms of built quality it is a phenomena. seriously i didn't expect brilliant build quality. it amazed me. you will feel you got a expensive battery grip in your hand not a third party one with rubbish quality. the rubber feels much similar to rubber which used in the original body of D600, keys are working perfectly well. it is completely fit your D600 and there isn't any sign of being wobbly at all even if you shake the battery grip as hard as you can you won't hear a small noise of wobbly screw. in terms of soft keys they are much like the original one the quality amazing except the shutter release key. it's a bit softer but it is perfectly okay for me. it's got both battery magazines for using one EN-EL15 battery or 6 AA batteries. Vertax D14 vs original MB-D14 in terms of quality and capabilities is like Tamron Lenses VS Nikkor ones. finally i would say it is easy to recommend this fantastic product to anybody else.

The battery grip fits well and feels solidly made. I was happy with it until after only a few uses the Screw mechanism broke leaving the battery grip half attached to the camera. I had a real struggle to get the broken battery grip off my brand new D600 without damaging it.

I would have liked to replace the item to see if this breakage was a one off but this option was not available to me. I would consider trying a replacement to see if it lasted longer but the price has risen substantially from £52.99 just a couple of weeks ago to £69.99 now for no apparent reason.

If the price drops again it might be worth another punt I suppose. If not I will just pay up for the real thing and hopefully get higher production quality.

I decided to take the plunge and try this replacement product instead of the original Nikon MB-D14. £45 vs £240 who wouldn't?

In simple terms this is a fantastic product, build quality is excellent. The rubber feels very much like the rubber on the Nikon D600 body, the fittings are flush and feels very much like a high end product.

Inside the box you get both battery holders for the Nikon battery as well as for regular AA batteries, plus a small pouch for carrying the secondary holder. On the Nikon battery holder there is also a small tight fitting rubber flap which is for the power adaptor cable so its possible to use the mains adaptor (EP-5B). This allows the cable to come out of the left side, the seal itself is attached to the battery holder so its not easily lost. The battery grip also has the standard screw for attaching onto a tripod or quick release tripod adaptor.

The electronic contacts are protected with a small plastic cap which is removed before attaching to the camera but can be reattached to preserve the contacts.

If there was one thing to improvement I would say, I'd prefer a little more resistance on the trigger release, its 'softer' to press than the one on the D600 body itself however that is a very minor detail for what is otherwise a great product at a great price.

I would highly recommend this to anyone with a Nikon D600 who are undecided between going branded vs unbranded.

I was skeptical at first and trusted the reviews I read; indeed I have to concur; having checked the product with the original it is almost identical. Great quality, it feels "original" and a fantastic price. I really don't see why you'd want to pay triple the money, unless you are a Nikon shareholder

It works OK as it should and seems sturdy enough. It was a little loose on the D600 and flexed slightly. This caused the battery light that comes on when fitting it to keep flashing each time it flexed. This gave me concern over the connection and I intend to return it.

Really impressed with this product, fits my D600 perfectly. Had the device now for a couple of months and it has been on the camera constantly, makes the camera a lot easier to handle in portrait mode. Great value product, really well made. Get one!!!!!!!

This grip looks the part, it works brilliantly and has a nice rubberised finish, just like the Nikon original that costs five times as much.
