I ordered this piece of kit after doing a lot of research. I already have a 1000D with a Hahnel Grip so I have some experience of using grips. For the price this grip represents fantastic value for money. It is very well made, sturdy and a fits very snugly. In fact, you can't tell that it's not a Canon product. No gripes with this piece of kit at all. I would recommend this product to any 550d or 600d user. The double battery compartment is very easy to use. Good packaging and instructions, takes a minute to fit onto the camera and the double the battery time is such a bonus. Seller supplied in two days, overall I am well pleased. What a bargain!

Note; Removing the battery cover on the camera to fit this grip takes gentle persuasion, but it can be done in 5 seconds without damaging the cover. You literally ease it off at an angle (keep it safe though) in case you want to take the grip off (you'll never go back once you fit the grip as it's far too useful).

I bought this after comparing very similar, but more expensive options, sold by the same retailer on Amazon, which appear to be the identical unit but this has an additional item, the remote. The reviews were overwhelmingly positive. Looking at the images it certainly seems identical. It is early days but I haven't taken it off since I have had it, it does give a good balance and isn't too heavy, which was a concern. I really bought it for the 2 batteries, still cheaper than a single Canon original, but the grip does help, and so far I like it a lot. Time will tell how the batteries bear up, but so far they work fine and I used it for an extended time in live view mode and the EOS utility /USB cable to control the camera... a real battery drainer, but they seemed to hold up well. The cabled release button works Ok too, I used it for some long exposures for star trails. It helps avoid shake on a tripod, and it has lock function so you can lock the camera open in Bulb mode. The Canon original version is around £8 at the time of writing, so its not a huge bonus, but it is something i have found useful already.
For the price, it looks good value, if it stands up longer term and the batteries keep holding charge it will be a bargain.

For the price this bundle is unbelievable value for money. The battery grip seems really well made and fits the camera well, it was easy to fit with the instructions clear to understand and took less than a minute to do (i got a grip for my 350d and the fitting was more fiddly with screws involved, the 550d battery cover just pops straight off) and the grip just tightens into place. All functions/buttons on the grip work well with no problems. The batteries charged up fine and so far seem to hold the charge well, only time will tell whether they keep performing but for the price i can't complain if they do fade. The remote lead works great no fuss operation just plug in and works the same as the shutter button great for taking really steady shots avoiding the vibration your finger causes touching the camera body. I was worried about buying this kit due to the price being so cheap but it's the best thing i did. Extremely pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it.
