batman review 11 Jun 2010
Format:Blu-ray
I love this movie anyway so it was great to watch on blu ray. Fantastic picture, brilliant extras. The batmobile tour was awsome, not on dvd. Recommend highly!

Simply a treasure. The original series is difficult to obtain but here is a between seasons movie to launch the series in Europe. You know what to expect it's camp colourful and tongue firmly in cheek and it's brilliant.Simple unadulterated fun
designed for adults and children alike.Presented here with a commentary by batman and robin docs and a gallery at a bargain price.

Da, da, da Batman! 11 Sep 2008
Format:Blu-ray
Batman: The Movie is a great movie. It's from 1966 so there are old elements to it, but all in all it's a fun movie. It's not like the darker, more recent films such as Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, it's campy like the series that ran through the mid and late 60s, of which the film is based. The villains, as in the series, are brilliantly cast. The Riddler is tailor-made for Frank Gorshin, Cesar Romero's brilliant as the Joker apart from a visible moustache, Lee Meriwether puts in a great performance considering she was never in the series (Julie Newmar was filming something else) and Burgess Meredith was born to be the Penguin. Adam West and Burt Ward are humourous with lines such as "Holy Jumble! Where's the hope of the world now?" and are as serious as a film like this can be. It's a bit silly, but it's great for the children, which I guess is why the director, Leslie H. Martinson, won a Golden Gryphon for his efforts. All in all a great movie.
