Battle the evil forces of Gotham City by yourself or with a friend. Two players can fight the forces of evil as the Dynamic Duo, Batman and Robin, or choose to control Nightwing or Batgirl. Take on Batman's most infamous enemies including Bane, Clayface, Scarecrow and the new formidable foe, Sin Tzu, all appearing for the first time in a video game.
Sin Tzu, cunning master of strategy and martial arts, makes history as the first Batman character to debut in a video game. To commemorate this event, DC Comics and Warner Bros. have showcased the talents of veteran scriptwriter Flint Dille and renowned comic book artist Jim Lee as Sin Tzu's cocreators and character designers.

The game itself is nice and cartoony and, suprisingly just mashing the punch and kick buttons is not enough to get you through. The short cut scenes add to the atmosphere which really makes you feel like you are in the realm of the Dark Knight.
Playing it on Normal difficulty is quite a challenge, but fortunately you can upgrade your abilities to give you an edge on some of the more difficult levels. There are lots of nice touches
- batarangs/smoke pellets/grapnel
- delayed attacks
- combo meter which fills up for power moves
- buddy moves (in two player mode)
- destructable and interactive scenery on every level
- taunt enemies to put the fear of the bat into them
Most levels have a set time limit but this is NOT frustrating. The scrolling beat-em-up is a dying breed but they have done the right thing with Batman:Rise of Sin Tzu by keeping it short, simple but oh so sweet! Oh and it's worth the money at only fifteen pounds!!! One for the fans, those wanting a cheap but good quality game that doesn't get too involved, or those who used to love playing double dragon/streets of rage and want something that has bettered the graphics and gameplay.
(n.b. look out for one of Bane's (boss) special moves where he does a backbreaker - they've kept the characters true to the comics)
