Product Description

Product Description

For nearly fifty years, he's terrorised Gotham and the world. Batman's greatest nemesis, he crippled Batgirl and killed the second Robin. His name is the Joker...and he's dying. Diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour while in the super-prison Blackgate, the Joker hatches his most deadly and desperate plan yet: a mass breakout of super-villains, all turned into "Jokerised" versions of their normal selves. Can Batman and his allies save the day? Will prison governer Shilo "Mr Miracle" Norman escape? And when it appears Robin has again been killed, who will save the Joker from Nightwing?Written by popular Bat-creators Chuck Dixon ("Batman") and Scott Beatty ("Batgirl"), with art by a host of talented pencillers, this is the Joker's biggest and baddest tale ever!

1.0 out of 5 stars Too many heroes, spoil the book, 24 Sep 2008
By BatDan (Hampshire, England) - See all my reviews
As Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons would say- 'Worst Batman story ever'. Firstly, this shouldn't be called a Batman book because the Dark Knight hardly features at all. This story is chaos from start to finish, with what must be every hero in the DC universe appearing at some point - half of whom I've never heard of.

Basically the story is that the Joker is told he only has a short while to live and decides to go out with a bang. Many, many, many heroes try to stop him and eventually...... oh I can't be bothered. I normally read any book I review at least twice but I barely got through this once.

If you're thinking of buying this atrocity don't buy it from the good folk at Amazon - you can have my copy! If you've read any of my other reviews you'll know I'm always positive as I'm a huge Batman fan, but I have nothing good to say about this one. Simply terrible

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 9 Aug 2008
By G. R. Stovold "Interesting person" (A long way away from you.) - See all my reviews

When I looked at the front cover of this book I instantly thought "Sweet, Brian Bolland's done another batman story" but after I received this and flipped through the pages, I realised that none of the artwork matches that of the cover. There are a few different artists on this graphic novel and it gets better through out, but still, its no where as good as I expected it to be.

The story is pure dogma. In a way its just claiming Joker is awesome without showing any real actions he'd be proud of. In a way it suffers the same fate as the Emperor Joker story. Also Batman himself hardly makes any appearances. He only shows up 3 times in the entire book.

Seriously, this is so bad even Joe Schumacher would hate it. I really regret giving this 2 stars.

Batman:Killing Joke is still the only Joker based story I've read thats worth buying.

1.0 out of 5 stars awful, 30 Aug 2008

I have tried to read this three times now but I just cannot finish it because it is so awful.

The artwork is terrible and the plot has no way of keeping the reader interested at all. Like the previous review states, there is hardly any Batman at all and the ending is so sudden and poor that I was glad that I skipped to the end after part 3.

Do not buy this book.
