Disappointing 2 May 2003
I was inspired to buy this game by the trailer on the XBox website. It looked atmospheric and dynamic. However, I have since discovered that more effort appears to have been put into the interlinking movies than into the game play. The in-game graphics are alright, but nothing compared to what the XBox is capable of handling. There is no training package in the game, something that I was disappointed with as it means that you go into the game cold, not knowing what the limitations of the character's abilities or equipment are.
I have to confess, that I have not progressed very far with the game as I keep getting fed up with re-starting because the character fell off the building, once again, whilst trying to manoevre it into the right position. I was expecting a game with all the fluidity and dynamism of Spiderman - The Movie, but with a more involved plot. It may well have the latter if you can be bothered to persevere with it, but it certainly does not have that same sense of 'being there'. This is a game that I will probably attempt again when I have finished all the other games in my collection.
