A popular superhero comic for many years - recently revived - was the brave and the bold, which often featured Batman in stories where he teamed up with other heroes whom he often wouldn't meet in the pages of any other title.
This is the third volume in a series of releases of episodes from a new cartoon show which has taken the original brave and the bold as it's inspiration, and features Batman along with a different superhero, all drawn from the pages of various dc comics titles, every episode.
The cartoon has a vibrant and bright style to the animation and the colouring that makes it look like a comic from the nineteen sixties, and the tone of the stories could well come from the same decade. Quite light and occsaionally featuring things like magic and time travel, but occasionally able to take a more serious tone. Just like the version of Batman that features here, who whilst dark and serious is also capable of the occasional good one liner.
There are five episodes on this disc, each running for approx twenty two minutes. Some begin with a pre credits sequence that bears no relation to the rest of the episode and forms a quick story in it's own right.
Episodes are: 'Journey to the centre of the bat' also featuring Aquaman and the Atom.
'The eyes of despero' featuring several members of the Green Lantern Corps.
'Return of the terrible trio' featuring Bronze Tiger.
And a two part story 'Deep cover for Batman' 'Game over for Owlman' which sees Batman deal with his evil double from a parallel universe.
The disc has the following language and subtitle options:
Languages: English. Castilian Spanish. Czech. Polish.
Subtitles: English. Castilian Spanish. Czech. Hebrew. Polish.
There are no extras on it.
But with a cartoon that's fun for the kids and features nice in references to comics to keep the fans happy, you get five episodes fo an entertaining show that are fun for Bat fans of all ages.
