Product Description

Product Description

Dave Batista's story is that of a kid who could have gone either way; and it was wrestling that provided him with a way out and up. As a teenager he found himself in trouble with the law, later drifting from job to job until, while working as a bouncer, his temper got the better of him and he attacked two patrons who were giving his colleagues a hard time. It was this incident that made him decide to turn his life around. A hardscrabble wrestler who had been told that he didn't have what it took to make it in professional wrestling, Batista took that advice as a personal challenge and signed with WWE. His determination to come back from injuries and the heart he demonstrates in the ring have won him countless fans. More than once, on the brink of success, he has had it torn from him until finally, in 2007, he became WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Batista is renowned for his forthright opinions of his fellow wrestlers. Tough and uncompromising, this book says it all.

4.0 out of 5 stars honest and frank despite limited career, 18 Nov 2007

(REAL NAME)
Batista Unleashed is a very enojyable read in which you truly get Batista's feelings on matters, which unveils a story of a man with more to him than perhaps people may think. The only drawback is his wrestling career, particularly as a headliner, has been fairly short,so maybe this autobiography is perhaps too early, but the life he's lead more than makes up for it-an engaging read

4.0 out of 5 stars batista, 3 Jan 2008
having been a fan of batista for sometime, i found this book a good read.
he is very honest throughout and opens up about he kids and love for his ex wife,.
he shares stories about traveling on the road, and the respect he has for other wrestlers including eddie, and the chris benoit tradegy.

one thing i found is he says a lot of things like "i carn't remember the name of the place, or who was there". but its still worth reading

4.0 out of 5 stars a fine read from a man with a story to tell , 20 Jan 2008

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
despite a very short career in the industry it was felt that dave batista had enough history to warrant a book,at the start of this book the man himself states that he feels he shouldnt be writing a book as he doesnt have enough to say but the publishers hounded him to do so ,this is a very honest thing to say and the book follows in the same vein.
Batista is very open in all aspects here,he admits wrestling wasnt his great love in life,he admits that he isnt the best wrestler around and that his mic skills leave alot to be desired,he speaks of his days a bouncer, borderline crime as a youth, his affairs on his wife and gives insight on who helped him along in a very candid fashion.
I bought this book at book signing in belfast and for all of batistas talk in book of being great to fans i felt he was far from that,he wouldnt personalise the books, wouldnt pose for photos really and was in hurry but boy was i starstruck,as i shook his hand my knees were going mad, what would happen if i ever met hulk hogan,i think i would have to be stretchered out, anyway this is a great book that keeps itself interestuing throughout.
