Book Description

"The Big Stink" -- Book 1 in the Batchelor Spatchula Detective Agency Series -- Suitable for boys and girls aged 8 and up (grown-ups too!).

It's another boring day in the city of Dullsville until a mysterious, evil genius steals the top secret Stink Machine and threatens to destroy the world! Batchelor Spatchula, the World's Greatest Private Detective, has just 24 hours to find it and save the world!!

Will Batchelor Spatchula find the Stink Machine? Where is the world’s largest horse manure factory? Where can I buy a copy of Moustache Magazine? What does Russell Crowe have to do with all this?

All these questions (well, most of them) will be answered by reading this silly book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Humorous adventure story 25 Jan. 2012
By Pat
Format:Kindle Edition
A good story that had a nice plot, was funny and had brilliant illustrations throughout. The story includes characters of a spatula, a washing machine and a packet of peas (amongst others). It works well. The book is recommended for boys six and up but I think girls would like it too! Bits of the vocabulary might be hard for some youngsters but it's the perfect book for reading out loud to your own children or grand-children. (One small point was that on the Kindle the text could not be altered and it was very small and lightish grey and so a little difficult to read if your eyesight isn't so good.)

1.0 out of 5 stars Kindle version...not good 1 Feb. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Purchased this for my 7 year old lad. The rendering of this book is poor, very poor. Looks like a PDF transferred under the guise of a Kindle doc. Not option to increase the font size (very small) other than by zooming, and then you are panning around just to see more of the page, images etc.

Can't comment on the story as we gave up after 1 page and I've returned for a refund - a first for me. And next time I'll use the sample option to try before buying.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good book 4 Dec. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I really liked this book because it was so funny and smelly.
I chose this rating because it's okay for children that are good at reading but a bit new to it and not older readers.
